You can search by the following criteria:
(1) systematic or given gene name, (i.e. C01F6.4 or fem-3)
(2) for genes on a particular chromosome
(3) by average fold difference (also termed the expression ratio) at one or more timepoints/comparisons
(4) by confidence level (P value) at one or more timepoints/comparisons. Confidence level takes into account the measurement error of the average ratios, and reflects the certainty that the average fold difference is not random chance. For this search, an expression ratio of >= 1 must be specified in addition to a p value, so that only genes enriched in the germ line are selected.
Check experiments to include them in the search, and combine experiments by selecting AND/OR.
To read how average fold difference and confidence levels were calculated, check out the Data analysis section of the Experimental Procedures.
